Robert (Bob) McClain

Bob brings over 15 years of courtroom experience to his position as an associate attorney at Hancock Daniel. Bob graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/molecular biology and then continued on to obtain his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University. After graduation, Bob felt a call to public service and began his career as a prosecutor in one of the largest jurisdictions in Virginia, Fairfax County. After years of representing the Commonwealth of Virginia in prosecutions of violations of criminal law he left the office to pursue civil litigation for a time.

After a brief hiatus from everyday courtroom life, Bob returned to prosecution to serve as a Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney for several years, advising County and State law enforcement officials and representing the Commonwealth in the most serious crimes. With years of experience providing sound legal advice, compassion, courtroom experience and professionalism, Bob has a proven track record of successfully navigating remarkably challenging cases.

“The ability to combine my legal knowledge and experience with a lifelong interest and family history at both the professional and hospital administration level gives me a keen understanding of the challenges medical professionals face on a daily basis and the ability to help our clients, both in and out of the courtroom solve those challenges.”
