Samuel P. Burgess

Sam represents and advises hospitals, health systems, physicians, physician organizations, ambulatory surgery centers, and accountable care organizations on transactional, compliance, and regulatory matters.

Sam counsels these entities in a wide variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, employment agreements, services agreements, real estate purchases and leases, and general policies and procedures.

Sam also advises clients on daily compliance and regulatory matters, with a focus on the application of the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Sam also represents corporate clients in a wide variety of transactional matters, including formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, succession planning, and commercial financing. He also represents lending institutions, business entities, investors, and individuals throughout the real estate process with contracting, leasing, financing, and title examination.

Sam graduated from St. John Fisher College with a degree in Sports Management. He then received a Master’s in Business Administration from Missouri Baptist University. He graduated summa cum laude as the valedictorian from The John Marshall Law School.
