The healthcare industry has been waiting for almost six years to receive final guidance on the “60-day” rule provisions of the Affordable Care Act. On February 12, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released its final rule on reporting and returning overpayments. The final rule contains some industry-favorable revisions to CMS’s original proposed 60-day rule regulations.
