Hancock Daniel & Johnson, P.C. is pleased to announce that Kimberly W. Daniel has been elected as the firm’s next managing partner effective January 1, 2024.
Ms. Daniel joined the firm as a partner in 2004. Throughout her career, she has led Hancock Daniel & Johnson’s recruiting program, served on the firm’s Executive Committee, and chaired the Labor and Employment and Medical Staff practice groups. Ms. Daniel also has actively served the legal community and various charitable organizations, including her work as a Council member for the Virginia Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Section, Board member for the Memorial Foundation for Children, Trustee for Reveille United Methodist Church, and volunteer for Cancer LINC.
Ms. Daniel, who has extensive experience guiding clients through labor and employment, medical staff, and other healthcare-related legal issues, will continue to practice law and serve clients while assuming the managing partner role at Hancock Daniel & Johnson. As an employment litigator and counselor, Ms. Daniel has received numerous accolades for her work, going back to her recognition as one of Style Weekly’s “Top 40 Under 40” lawyers in 2004. She has since been honored for her work by leading legal industry publications, including inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2010 and Virginia’s Legal Elite since 2005. She earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law cum laude and her B.A. from Duke University.

After 20 years serving as managing partner, B. Page Gravely, Jr. will transition to practicing law full time, focusing on patient safety organizations and medical staff issues. He will work closely with other firm leaders to continue attracting top attorneys committed to the firm’s goals and culture. Mr. Gravely stated, “Hancock Daniel & Johnson’s leaders have carried the firm through growth, challenging business cycles, and the global pandemic over the past twenty years. They have demonstrated determination, resourcefulness, and close collaboration while providing top-tier legal services for our clients. Kim is well-respected by the partnership and within the business and legal communities. Mr. Gravely is a founding partner of Hancock Daniel & Johnson and was its managing partner from 2003 through 2023. He is recognized in healthcare law by The Best Lawyers in America®. Mr. Gravely earned his J.D. and B.A. from the University of Richmond.
