Anna M. Cotto

Anna is an associate attorney at Hancock Daniel where she focuses on helping and supporting clients dealing with issues related to their medical practices. Her passion for litigation ignited prior to completing law school, with internships at the Felony Division of the Public Defender’s Office and the University of Illinois-Chicago Law School’s Pro Bono Litigation Clinic, where she assisted in representing clients in both state and federal courts. Anna strives to build connections and open communication with her clients in order to ease their minds and guide them through the complexities of litigation.

Anna received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Law where she graduated as Valedictorian.

Following graduation, Anna worked at an insurance litigation firm in Chicago where she learned about the various aspects of insurance litigation defense and gained experience with working on all aspects of a case from discovery, depositions, mediations, settlements, trials, and appeals. Anna’s experiences have allowed her to grow her legal research skills, sharpen her attention to detail, and improve upon her ability to advocate on behalf of others in a clear way. “Medical professionals are dedicated to creating a safer and healthier world, and I am dedicated to giving them the high-quality legal representation they deserve. Their hard work should be protected to the fullest extent possible.”
