Michael E. Olszewski

Mike understands that one of the biggest disruptions healthcare providers can experience in their professional and personal lives is a medical malpractice case. “After all their years of study and training to become part of the healing profession, a malpractice claim can deal a heavy blow to a provider’s confidence,” Mike says. “It can invite questions about their expertise and add to the enormous pressure that comes with delivering high quality care.”

For almost two decades, Mike has helped providers throughout the Mid-Atlantic states to navigate the complex legal and medical issues in malpractice cases and to regain their professional balance. His keen ability to provide clear, intelligent representation has earned him a stellar reputation in and out of the courtroom. Mike strengthens our client’s defense at trial through thoughtful analysis, wise judgment and by persistently demonstrating his defense theme utilizing the most advanced technologies and trial techniques. “These strategies not only enable me to advance persuasive legal arguments; they also allow our clients to present compelling explanations for their medical decisions that encourage a favorable verdict.”

Mike also leads our Appeals group. Having briefed and argued many cases before the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court, Mike advocates for common sense, pro-health care provider policies in malpractice cases. “Ensuring the Virginia Supreme Court considers the healthcare provider’s perspective enables all doctors, dentists and facilities to have a fair trial,” Mike says.
