W. Scott Johnson leads the government relations team at Hancock Daniel. Mr. Johnson has been involved with the Virginia General Assembly since 1986. He is repeatedly named by his peers as a Legal Elite in Government Relations by Virginia Business magazine and by Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Johnson has experience in advocating positions on behalf of our clients at the General Assembly involving the following issues: tort reform, healthcare, medical malpractice litigation, business litigation, insurance regulatory oversight, taxes, business organizational structures, workers’ compensation, professional liability, information technology, alcohol and beverage control, wetlands protection, environmental liability, title protection for professionals, and appropriation budget amendments.
Benjamin H. Traynham represents a wide variety of interests before the General Assembly, including health care, small business, energy, and environment. He has nearly a decade of federal and state legislative experience, previously having lobbied for a national trade association and served as a senior policy counsel in Congress.
